Q. I understand that Godparents must be practicing Catholics. I do not have any family members or friends that are practicing Catholics. What would you suggest I do to select a Godparent for my child's baptism?
Q. How can a person with celiac disease (gluten intolenence) take communion. Could a rice wafer be used?
Q. Are there any plans to buy an organ for the church. I sure miss organ music at Mass- I am a very traditional music lover. The piano music is fine, but it sure would be nice to have an organ too. Someone told me we have a computerized organ. I haven't heard it. I know I'm not alone in my request - many of us long for organ music in our parish. Thank you,
Q. On Easter, Father Remo invited those interested to have their marriage blessed. Would this apply to a divorced Catholic who married a divorced non-Catholic?
Q. Good Evening Father, If someone was married more than once who isn't Catholic and were not married in a Catholic or Protestant Church and just married legally and divorced, does this person still have to receive an annulment before they can marry a Catholic in a Catholic Church?
Q. Father, I wanted to know, if never having been married, I would have to give up the Eucharist if I married a divorced man. An annulment is out of the question for him, as he says that his marriage was a true marriage and that he loved her very much and he could not, in good conscience deny it's validity at one time. While I respect this decision, I am not sure I am willing to give up receiving Christ fully at Mass.
Q. I am not sure that this is the proper place to post as I do not necessarily have a question, but more of a compliment. I started attending Mass at your church about 2 months ago, and its helped me through a lot of tough times already. I grew up Catholic, but often times was an Easter/Christmas Catholic (no I am not proud of this). I moved to Charlotte almost 2 years ago but never made the effort to find a church until just recently, and I am glad I did. In the last couple of weeks I had some health issues and even had surgery last monday (minor, but difficult when you go through it alone). I am 27 and single, and my closest family member is 600 miles away. As you can imagine this makes the holiday season a difficult one, especially now that I have spent the money saved to spend the holidays with the family on the recent surgery. The reason I am writing to you though is not for pity, but to say thank you. Despite not knowing anyone at the church and not speaking much more then peace be with you to another, I do feel like I was welcomed. Your church has given me a greater feeling of home, and gives me a really good reason to get out of bed every Sunday. Thank You.
Q. Father Remo, I feel like my faith is slipping away and I feel at days I need to pray harder to get that fire I once had to continue my JOURNEY, I remember you have always said ask for GUIDANCE - father what can I do light that flame I once had in my faith.
