Ministry : Ministry to the Sick and Homebound

This ministry coordinates visits to hospitals, nursing homes and private residences, bringing the Eucharist and engaging in prayer with those who are unable to attend mass.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Who is allowed to bring Eucharist to the sick and homebound?

A. Any registered member of St. Thomas Aquinas who has completed the parish based training for Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are eligible. If communion is brought to a child, the minister will have had to complete the diocesan program, “Protecting God’s Children.”

Q. How do I get someone to come to a family member or friend?
